Pants Measurement Guide
How to measure yourself for a suit trousers:
Remove the belt for the waist measurement. Run the tape measure around your waist where you wear your pants.
The hips measurement is taken around the crotch and buttocks region at the widest point. The tape measure should come around the fullest part of the buttocks. It should sit flush against the body but not overly tight.
The crotch measurement starts at the centre of your pant's waistline. Run the tape measure under the crotch and through your legs, around to the top of your buttocks, finishing at the centre of the pants waistline at the back.
To measure the full length of the pants start at the top of the pants waistband and run the tape measure down to the bottom edge of the pants leg. You can cross-check the measurement by measuring the length of a well-fitting pair of pants laid flat.
The thigh measurement is taken around the thigh at its widest point. This is usually as high up the thigh as possible. Bring the tape measure up into the crotch and then measure around the thigh.
The knee measurement is taken with the leg straight. Take the tape measure and measure around the knee at the kneecap.
The leg opening is the circumference of your pants leg opening. Run the measuring tape around the leg opening of one of your well-fitted pants.
